If you are for peace then there is only one way for the killing to stop:
Putin to withdraw Russian troops from Ukraine.
There is no other alternative in which peace would happen:
1. your preferred option is for Ukraine to be conquered by the Kremlin. In that case expect guerilla war and a continuation of deaths
2. if Ukraine is made to give up the territory that Putin now holds - there will continue to be deaths inside AND Russia will come back for more once the West forgets
So, if you want peace then you should want Putin’s military to leave Ukraine

The fact is that Putin can end the war today by withdrawing completely from Ukraine.
If you think giving up Ukrainian land will keep Putin satisfied, then you forget that this is what happened in 2014 when Putin grabbed Crimea and set up the “independent republics” of the Donetsk People’s republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic.
Taking that pound of flesh was not enough for Putin’s Russia - they came back for more and this time went for the whole, attacking Kyiv.

The reason for that is that there’s only one center of power in Russia. You can’t build a powerful business without affiliation with it, and so no independent political forces can exist. This means that all candidates that we had were somehow approved by the system, so the choice was between Putin and the clowns, carefully selected to mimic coverage of different political views. The government have created lots of instruments to stop really independent candidates from taking part in the elections, and no one even tries.
Putin has barred popular opposition figures from campaigning, obstructing the opposition’s debates and rallies, excluding them from media, harassing activists. The provinces get directions, how much turnout and incumbent's vote percentages are expected, and are generally free to decide how to get there. They are measured by their ability to deliver.
The huge number of ‘yes’ votes in the poor regions heavily dependent on transfers from the Kremlin, like North Caucasus are far above the required threshold values, closer to North Korean “99.9%” level.
