It isn’t audible. It just feels hot. He might get a little beepy sound to notify him that he’s been detected. Or maybe not...

a full hit like that and the RWR would be shrieking

“shooting down multiple objects this February, including one Chinese balloon over U.S. airspace”
I would not be bragging about a $350,000,000 aircraft being capable of shooting a slow moving spy balloon.

Iran flys Slatted F-4Es with TISEO. Here's a pic:

The RWR in this version will display F-14s, F-15s, F-16s and F-18s...no problem. However, it probably would not display the F-22.
There is a possibility that an F-22 would display as a 3 dot U in the middle of the RWR screen, depending on the mode selected by the F-22 pilot.

I used to work WCS on F-4Ds. Some of the bosses, without encouraging us to emulate them, would talk about manually following the SPs with the radar antenna, when they did their slow drive-bys on the flightline. They wouldn’t be transmitting. A couple of guys briefly locked onto jets as they were taking off. Active radar was discouraged on the line.

If the radome is open, then it would be very easy to make it look like the radar is tracking the SPs.

Transmitting RF energy on the ground is not a good idea.

Yup. Half-action on the joystick trigger gave manual control of the dish. You could track anything. As I recall, the only time live radar was necessary in flightline tests, the dish would be pinned upwards, to avoid injuries.
That said, there was R/T pulsing radar, and there was CW radar. Two different animals.

CW is what the Aim-7 guided on.

For CW to transmit, the missile control panel (lower left of main instrument panel) has to be on (PWR ON).

Yeah. Continuous Wave was to paint targets and the AIM-7 dish would receive the returns. The CW transmitter was an ugly black lump, filled with cooling oil. .

Newbie pilots and WSOs could still sit on the ready line, and play with the R/T radar in the midday Florida sun and burn it up, because no cooling air was applied.

The F-22 has a low-probability-of-intercept radar. The radar employs measures to avoid detection by passive radar detection equipment (such as a radar warning receiver (RWR), or electronic support receiver) while it is searching for a target or engaged in target tracking.

The F-4 RWR was not very sophisticated.
