A Massachusetts woman who disappeared late last month was found Monday at a state park, where authorities said she had been trapped in a muddy area for at least three days.
Emma Tetewsky, who was reported missing on June 26, was rescued from a swampy area inside Borderland State Park, Easton and Stoughton police said in a joint statement.
Hikers inside the Easton park said they heard a woman screaming for help but were unable to reach her so they called 911 at about 6 p.m. Monday.
Easton police officers who arrived on the scene heard Tetewsky’s desperate calls for help and followed her screams some 50 feet from the shore, the officials said.
Three cops on ATVs waded through thick brush and swamp until they reached Tetewsky, 31, and dislodged her from the mud.

She had her foot on the rail.
They mentioned “shore”….what is the nature of this place to have a shore?
#12.
Though who knows what that actually entails.
If you dig into this, this woman apparently had significant mental issues. While she may have been stuck in the mud for a day or so, the rest of the time she was probably wandering aimlessly and confused.
She may have even intentionally avoided rescuers during her privation. It’s a small park.
It’s only the largest freestanding mud park ever built, that’s all. She would rather see mud than her cousin Eddie.
She sounds like a real stick in the mud.
Quicksand never turns up in real life as much as it does in old TV shows.
I guess it was an easy gimmick to build an episode on.
Nicely put on face to not cover eyes, ears, mouth. FAKE MUD TRAUMA.
Well that's a fine mess you've gotten us into now Ollie.
Well, I don’t know about Massachusetts but where I live we got some heavy rains this weekend. Maybe it wasn’t a swamp when she got there?
Especially since the area’s pond is named...”Leach Pond”.
I am not making this up.
it was originally a private mansion with acre’s of land.
It was donated to the state to be used as a state park and function hall at the mansion.
Got some ponds on the property and i imagine some swampy areas.
I haven’t been there in like 10 years but it’s a fun place for a nature walk.
“Maybe it wasn’t a swamp when she got there?”
That’s the first thing that occurred to me, i.e., that it was fine when she went there, but weather changed everything and then she was trapped.
