Do people go to movies as much nowadays, as in the past?

That might help explain why total ticket sales have been sluggish for this movie.

The reviews haven’t helped.

How many people will just wait for it to go to a streaming service or cable channel?

Probably not, but when you do go they cram weirdo values down your throat. I went to see “Fast X” recently and before the previews they had a show on onscreen which kept going on and on and on about “Pride” month.

The latest Top Gun movie made over a billion dollars.

The last Spider-Man movie made millions

People will go to the movies IF it is entertaining. They won’t see woke garbage.

But woke garbage is what most of the studios put out now.

Top Gun: Maverick only earned $130M on opening weekend, but went on to full blockbuster status as positive reviews started to spread. I think a lot of people wait for reviews now rather than rush out to see (or stream) a new movie. IJ 5 reviews seem to range from "It was horrible" to "it wasn't THAT bad" to "It was good because 1. Ford, 2. Nostalgia, 3. It wasn't Crystal Skull".

Some movies do well despite ridiculous woke plots and themes. The recent Avatar sequel has grossed $2.3B globally. Everyone had to know going in that it would be recycled trash from the original.

We’ll see when MI comes out in 2 weeks...like Top Gun: Maverick, I expect it to be big at the box office...Super Mario did 1+ billion as well, Avatar 2 broke a billion too.
