Even the regional cleansing of Army post names could not get a Ft Patton.
Hogan’s Heroes always made it seem like the Germans were afraid to go to the Russian front.

George C Scott also won the Oscar for best actor for that role!
One thing I learned in Patton, is that the press had the same kind of smug a-holes even back then.

He was right about the Russians.
Check Patton’s history. He was friendly with Eisenhower for years. The German’s knew it. Patton was the hammer, and Eisenhower the fist.
