Fewer than 40% of Seattle residents believe the Seattle Police Department is doing a good or excellent job preventing crime and protecting citizens, with a majority concluding the SPD’s performance should be rated “fair” or “poor,” according to a new poll.
Nearly half of those asked believe police aren’t tough enough on crime. And 75% support efforts to shift some emergency calls away from police to other agencies and unarmed city workers, presumably to free officers to patrol and respond to other more serious incidents.

The responses were part of a Seattle Times/Suffolk University poll of 500 Seattle residents conducted June 12 to June 16 by phone. The poll has a margin of error of 4.4 percentage points.

There's one obvious solution. Cut the PD budget by half again and hire lots more social workers. It works well everywhere it's tried.

The blame lies on the heads of the woke city council and the slime-ball managers they’ve hired.
A large contingent of the Seattle police force resigned due to the Constitutional abuses the council and their managers heaped on them.
But the average, progressive Seattle-ite has the IQ of regurgitated linoleum paste, so there’s that.
Steady as she goes, Seattle residents. This problem - like all problems - can be solved by voting straight Democrat.
Sure, Democrats have wrecked things in the past. But please remember a key liberal principle: “This time it will be different.”

THAT was MY exact thought...libs of Seattle (I know some) do not deserve any better
And that’d mean they’d have to look in the mirror. They’re getting what they wanted. Police that won’t respond to crimes. If I were a cop in a blue city I wouldn’t either.
Seattle Residents actually want a PD?
The rot starts at the top: the feckless mayor and the fascist city council.
Just f’n move for Gods sake. The town is a cesspool and if you have any decency about you, they don’t want you there. So move.
