About to head over and visit my sister and take her some meals.
On the upside, she is progressing with the walker. She is still wheelchair bound.
She just had a PET scan Friday, there are nodes on her lungs that her oncologist has been watching for years (she is a breast cancer survivor), but they have grown.
We are all worried, and I know she has amazing faith (you cannot even imagine all she has been through, heart attacks, cancer, COPD, blood, clotting disorder, stroke) and never gives up faith but she is absolutely blindsided by this one. She has been working so hard to get back on her feet, to church, teaching her SS class and sharing her testimony.
I am praying so hard it is not cancer… she is like a modern day Job. Hopefully God will have mercy on her.
Oh, LF....I am praying hard for His mercy and healing, over your dear sis.

Just a follow up on my sister - the scan did show metabolic activity in the lung nodule, but not significant growth since the last scan a few years ago, so the plan is to keep an eye on it. The doc is leaning towards something inflammatory or infection because she did just have 3 bouts of pneumonia and a ventilator this year!
The PET scan was from her chin down to her pelvic bone and nothing else showed up.
So this is definitely a praise the Lord!!
She and I also did some troubleshooting and solved another issue she has been having, and an unexpected result from that is she now has more feeling in her legs and has been able to walk more. It might be some sort of nerve /vagus thing. Her doctors are good and keeping her status quo (and alive) but they are definitely not trying to evaluate or solve any new issues she has.
She would like to try NAC for her COPD, but it is out of the question as it would interfere with her blood thinner. She has had a blood clotting disorder for 30 years that is mechanical and cannot be fixed surgically, so her blood thinner cannot be messed with. She also has 100% block of one carotid artery amd 50% block of the second.
Nevertheless, she is in great spirits, and getting a lot down that she can do from her wheelchair like organizing drawers and such. She jokes that she is spring cleaning up to about 3 feet 😂
