Good for the cop but dang, he needs to get to the gym. I was trying to breath for him!

Maybe, but he ran a long way with at least 30 pounds of gear on him, (not counting the rifle and ammo). I’m sure a lot of his breathing had to do with the adrenaline circulating through his body.

He still had control over his breathing when he fired. He did a great job.

In addition to the other factors people have mentioned, it wasn’t exactly the coolest day in Texas either - not the peak of summer like now, but it had to be in the 80s and with a merciless sun beating on him... Another consideration is that he’s got no idea where the shooter is, so running blindly isn’t the greatest idea.

Adrenaline, full body gear and the distance he had to run will take the breath out of anyone....
