The Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation has confirmed that a criminal case has been opened against Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner Group, for “organising an armed rebellion”. Article 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, under which he is being charged, provides for between 12 and 20 years’ imprisonment.

BACKGROUND:
Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin claimed that the regular Russian army had launched a missile strike on his mercenaries’ rear camps. Prigozhin added that Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu fled Rostov like a coward and said “that creature will be stopped”. The Russian Ministry of Defence has called this statement a provocation.
The FSB has opened a criminal case against Prigozhin for incitement to armed rebellion.
Photos of armoured vehicles on the streets of the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don are being posted on Russian social media following Prigozhin’s statement about a de facto declaration of war against the Russian army. Checkpoints are being set up at entrances to Moscow.
I have said this since the start of Russia’s invasion last February- the only way this ends is with Putin swinging from the end of a rope.

I’ve heard that too, but if it were true then the Russian air force would have cleaned up everyone by now. You’d already have massive explosions in Russia proper, but the only place I’ve seen is some apartment building in kiev.
