Didn’t a wealthy Democrat donor already pay all of Hunter’s (known) back taxes ages ago? So he just had to settle the failure to file accurately in the sweetheart plea deal?

Yes a billionaire paid Hunter’s unpaid taxes. That is income to Hunter. Hunter needs to pay the federal (and CA state) income taxes on the amount paid on his behalf. It is a gift to Hunter. I’ll bet he won’t.

A wealthy donor was reputed to have paid off Hunter's back taxes. So that obviously constitutes income to Hunter, or it would if someone paid off my back taxes. So the donor then pays off the taxes on the donor's contribution which is yet more income on which Hunter owes taxes ad infinitum or at least to the point of negligible returns.

Depending on when they were paid, interest was due from day 1…and then interest on the interest. I had a bill due with them that was settled within $108 after a year. The interest on the interest was stunning over the next three years when we settled.
