I can see much better since the operation and only need computer glasses usually but I used to wear big coke bottle glasses. When I was ten they started making them out of plastic because glass lens were so heavy they would cause problems.

This barely touches the surface. Oil is more than just used for fuel. Petroleum distillates are used to create a plethora of products, including plastics, paints, lubricants, medicines and on and on.
