Amanda Bynes is reportedly in police custody again amid ongoing mental health struggles.
The Los Angeles Police Department handcuffed the former Nickelodeon star, 37, and took her to get a mental health evaluation on Saturday morning, according to TMZ.
A law enforcement source told the outlet that they arrived on the scene after receiving a call about a female individual who was in distress. TMZ has identified the woman as Bynes, but Page Six has not independently confirmed this claim. We have reached out to the LAPD and the actress’ attorney for comment.

I remember her show from years ago when my kids watched it. She was very talented and funny, especially for one so young. It’s tragic what has become of her.

Child stars are so messed up that if your only quarrel with one of them is over her political beliefs, then she’s one of the more fortunate, less disturbed ones.

I think Mickey Rooney turned out all right.
Given their track record on the abuse of children on their shows, I honestly don’t know how Disney and Nickelodeon are still in business. Any other organization would have been sued into oblivion years ago.
This isn’t something I follow closely. I don’t know what the comparative track record is for other studios and networks. I would imagine that some are better than others and there might be some really responsible players as well.
But Disney and Nickelodeon are notorious. I have to believe that this reflects moral degeneracy at the very highest levels, such that the top executives simply don’t care and turn a blind eye to the predators. Even if the top execs are not personally complicit in the abuse of minors, this is a complete abdication of responsibility.
Some have turned out all right I am sure, but many because they leave the business. Shirley Temple turned out A-OK. Jane Withers another. Ricky Schroeder turned out well.
