Canada's population surpasses 40 million
Population growth rate currently at 2.7 per cent, the highest since 1957
"This is an exciting milestone for Canada," said chief statistician Anil Arora in a media statement. "It is a strong signal that Canada remains a dynamic and welcoming country, full of potential."
Canada's population grew by a record 1.05 million last year and about 96 per cent of the rise was due to international migration, the agency said.

yes, here in Mexico, people were making plans to go to Canada, they do not need a visa... They go and stay.

1 million in Canada is like 10 million here. Canadians are really polite, and will be pushed around by the worst of them, especially from Africa and the Middle East.
Well at least they got a good soccer team out of it.
The only good thing will be that there soon wont be any stupid french language signs littering the highways anymore
depends on where they come from but I have a feeling that Canadians are not going to be happy ultimately....although they have scored some good basketball players.
The only thing keeping some away from Canada is the balmy weather it sometimes has. Certain bugs for sure. :)
I’ve seen a couple of people who published YouTube videos regretting their immigration to Canada. These were highly educated people who were attracted to tech jobs only to find they can’t make enough money to live anywhere near where they work. Government policies have made buying or renting homes unaffordable. People who came there without the training to have a high-tech job are screwed. The other problem is Chinese people came there and bought homes, thus running up the prices. They are moving their money out of China. In capital fight, if you pay a million dollars for something and only sell it for seven-hundred thousand it’s a win because it beats leaving in China and losing the whole thing. Meanwhile they have bid the prices up to where Canadians can’t compete. Several of the emigres said they were outright lied to by Canadian representatives.
Most of Canada's immigrants are educated, skilled workers. Doctors, engineers, etc. Canada, like all western countries needs immigrants to fund their old age pensions and medical care. But they are doing it the smart way. We are doing it the dumb way, letting in unskilled workers who will contribute nothing except guarantee that we have manicured lawns.
Basketball players? They’ve scored tons of taco wagons. And lawn services.

Canada is crazy expensive. At least in the U.S., it's not too bad as long as you live outside of the northeast and California.
I heard any house within a 20-mile radius of downtown Vancouver will cost at least one million dollars.
