The series was loosely based on the life of Herbert
Philbrick, a Boston advertising executive who
the U.S. Communist Party on behalf of the FBI in
the 1940s and wrote a bestselling book on the topic,
I Led Three Lives: Citizen, 'Communist', Counterspy (1952).
The part of Philbrick was played by
Richard Carlson.
The "three lives" in the title are Philbrick's
outward life as a white-collar worker,
his secret life as a Communist agent, and his even more
secret life as an FBI operative
helping to foil Communist plots.

There was a radio show “I Was A Communist For the FBI” with Alan Ladd that was similar.
“YouTube premium makes these shows enjoyable.”
I finally subscribed to YT Premium in January. It’s a bit pricey, but it makes all TV shows and movies on YT watchable as well as lots of other content normally laden with ads. My AppleTV and Roku boxes put YT on the big 55 inch screen and the picture quality is usually excellent.
I remember that TV show! We always watched it!
DC. is infested with so many spies and communists they all know each other by first real name.
Lobbyists are the back up crew
