My opinions were based upon countless interviews where he said he enjoyed working for Trump.
I'm sure Anthony Scaramucci and Michael Cohen also enjoyed working for Trump.
Yup. I trusted Pompeo 100% as a Trump supporter. Not now. No wonder Trump gets hoodwinked by those whom he believes he can trust, and ends up getting knifed in the back.
I believe everything you posted, and that President Trump had no idea how deep the corruption went during his first term.
I also believe that during his second term he will uses his “get even attitude” to attack and remove deep state control.
That is probably just another reason.
My guess is there’s several topics that people feel threatened by. All of them revolving around power, money, immorality, and crime.
Everything is sicker than we possibly imagine.
60 Million Views, better then he could dreamed of on Fox.
I think Tucker Carlson is right by and large.
Sometimes Trump is criticized for being a “populist.” It’s presented as a serious accusation, without any explanation.
What does it mean? It means that he will say and do something that is popular, but unwise. Who decides what is “unwise?” The experts, permanent Washington, the press, the establishment, consensus amongst professionals.
I have a more positive view than Tucker on the Iraq wars. I say wars because I think the record shows that Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II each went to war, with Congressional approval, against Sadam Hussein.
The three wars used similar whereas clauses. I have seen this positively, as a sign of continuity and maturity in government. It also shows the kind of inertia that exists with Government. Establishing that Saddam is bad the first time takes some effort. Then it gets easier. Then it takes no effort at all.
Piling on. It’s what Democrats do. They defended American slavery. Now they want slavery reparations. They opposed Reagan in all matters, including his bombing of Gaddafi’s palace. Then they take out Gaddafi. Never mind that the circumstances had changed. They opposed Reagan’s war on the Russian communist empire. Now it seems they want to defeat Russia.
If populism means seeking out popularity regardless of consequences, perhaps it’s the Democratic party that is populist.
I was watching something the other day and learned something new.
Many inside the NSA-FBI-CIA were opposed to Reagan because they thought he destabilized the under the table agreements with Russia.
They wanted NO scenario where the USA could defeat Russia in a war.
This was why MX and Star Wars was killed or de-funded.
“I would place Trump’s exit from the Paris Climate Accord at #1 in terms of freaking out the DS.”
That too!
“Afghanistan? Didn’t he call for wind up and troop withdrawal?”
That’s what I remember. It must be done right.
Biden’s “f’d up, hasty, ineffective and wasteful withdrawal.”
“Now the afghans are armed to the nuts with American weaponry and vehicles.” Yes. I believe the Chinese are now operating their (our) air base also. What a disaster.
“Always thought Trump’s anti-pedophile stance and possible deeper investigation of that was why he had to go.”
I admit that I know nothing about Trump’s anti-pedophile stance. However, in the last days of the Trump administration there were two busts of pedophile rings, the only two that I have ever heard about.
There is something going on here. Child abduction has gone wholesale in America. Law enforcement is looking the other way.
“In this life, we do not get to choose our martyrs. We can only choose our principles. And America’s are at stake.”
Tucker Carlson
Pompeo claims that he cannot support trump because trump withheld classified documents. but that is irrelevant to the indictment, which according to news reports never mentions classified documents— only “defense” documents which it alleges are covered under the 1917 Espionage Act. So Pompeo is changing the subject and commenting on a legal red herring. why would he do such a thing? if he was secretary of state, director of the cia, and a lawyer, then he should know better. apparently he thinks it’s ok to mislead the public using red herrings on this issue. this does not seem to speak very well for pompeo or the DC crowd that he apparently hangs out with.
There seems to be a lot resting on whether “defense” records are covered by the 1917 Espionage Act or the Presidential Records Act. The 2012 Clinton “Socks” DC case resolved this in Clinton’s favor for DC jurisdiction. Apparently the DOJ went jurisdiction shopping to get an indictment from DC and then prosecute in Southern District of Florida. It has been alleged that this is unusual and even legally questionable.
Some of these loose ends might make more sense if this prosecution is not regarded as the final prosecution but only an interim prosecution designed to chip away at trump’s goodwill with voters and reputation among detractors in the court of public opinion. It’s really a shameful banana republic move and I hope political karma will be swift and certain.
Very good piece!!
I guess you didn’t watch it or you wouldn’t have said this.
