Denver Nuggets 94 Miami Heat 89 Series 4-1
Nikola Jokic was the leading scorer of the game with 28, and leading rebounder of the game with 16. Jamal Murray had the game high in assists with 8.
They haven't named a series MVP, but it would be surprising if it wasn't Jokic.
Just. Can’t. Get. Excited about it.
But i managed to make a small donation to Freeperville that made me feel better about myself.
I was going to say has any other NBA player lead two categories, but Kareem lead in points, and I think he lead in blocks until Hakeem Olajuwon went ahead of him.
But still, that's amazing for Stockton.
What about Steve Nash? He’s in the HOF and he had Four 50-40-90 seasons. Only eight other players are in the 50-40-90 club, and only Bird and Durant have two. Nash actually was one free-throw short of having five in a row.
No, it’s called the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
The league needs to:
- Ban tattoos
- College graduate 1st
- Create a competitive minor-league so players can develop
- Financial education for rookies
- No former players can become coaches
- Fund at-risk and anti-gang programs for inner-city youths
John Stockton was talented. But he was a point guard and never won a championship.
I watch the last 5:30 of the game.
- Ban tattoos
I agree. The fans are ordinary middle class folks. The basketball players are gangsta. So there's a disconnect right there.
I think they do have decent minor league. I think all the leagues have some kind of financial education for rookies, but I don’t know how good it is. Why shouldn’t former players become coaches?
I think you split it between the guy that watches on TV and wears a jersey, or the guy that actually buys tickets and goes to see the game live. Tickets can be expensive, so the people you see in the stands tend to be upper middle class and wealthy. NBA gets good tv ratings, so there’s more then just one demographic watching.
As a Celtic fan I was glad to see Jimmy “Flop King” Butler lose.
Pee Wee Kirkland turned down being drafted by the Bulls, because he was making more money slinging drugs. But even he went legit and became a motivational speaker and got a Masters degree.
No, it is called the Bill Russel trophy. Smarten up.
The MVP is called the Bill Russell Trophy. The championship is the Larry O’Brien Trophy. But I don’t think most people think of that.
Not me, but apparently SOME people do. I get several channels of "raw news feeds" on my satellite system (from reporters and cameras 'in the field' before it gets to the editors and producers in the studio).
There is a KUSA news helicopter circling over thousands of maniacs blocking the streets of Denver dancing, setting off fireworks and generally acting like lunatics. Someone is going to get badly hurt (if not already).
lol. used to be kind of a sports nut. followed pretty much everything. i do enjoy hearing the guys at church talk about it sometimes. reminds me of old times.
now thinking about it, the three sports left (i only watch highlights on the internet, because i got rid of the tv/cable long ago) are majors golf, triple crown racing, and very rarely free style and greco-roman wrestling when it streams.
lol. the last time i went out of my way to watch something online it was hs football streams. some of them post their games online.
Good week for Serbian sports stars. A nation of just 7 million has one man become the GOAT of Men’s tennis, and the other NBA Champion and Finals MVP.
Charles Barkley is a huge star, he never won a championship. He wasn’t a point guard, but I am not sure why that detracts from someone. Magic was a PG (usually) and he was the most exciting player I watched. Steph Curry is a PG, and he’s one of the biggest stars today.
Is it not utterly stupid that the NBA’s ( an INDOOR winter game league ) championship series is finished, while HOCKEY (technically an OUTDOOR winter game league) is STILL playing its championship series, a WEEK before frikking SUMMER starts?
Where I am in Northern California, winter is just starting.
