Waylon’s music row digs were next door to Garth’s place(s). He came up southern plains hard and was conservative in his heart but libertarian leaning too. Didn’t suffer fools or pop country gladly though he himself sang MacArthur Park and decently I might add Garth is an insufferable lib virtue signaler and I knew that instantly from his first hit though I like low places and the rodeo song(?)
And he’s very generous with his crews
Very
He shares so there is that

Garth is a mental case, although an extremely wealthy one.

as the friend of someone who knows garth brooks personally, Hes has said the same thing to me about garth brooks being a lot more liberal than his PR... iow, hes a bit of an insufferable prick.
Im guessing his song "friends in low places" is an autobiography?

My son-in-law is the chief engineer at a large metropolitan area and sees many acts and pro-athletes.
After Brooks & Trisha Yearwood played there a couple of years ago, he told me that Yearwood was one of the most insuffable, demanding & ungrateful he had been around and Brooks was one of the most nicest, appreciative and grateful. He said Brooks made a point of personally thanking every arena employee he saw after the show.
Brooks is wrong here, but I trust my son-in-law’s judgment.

Who is Garth Brooks?
I think you mean Chris Gaines.

I pegged him as a poser from Day One.

Years ago, Brooks was the face of the RIAA's attack on used record stores.

So did Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash in the 60s, Mother Earth News, back to the land, old pickups, basic farm guns, earth mothers, farms and rural living with big gardens and chickens, wine beer and doobies with cowboy hats and red bandanas, people don’t know much about the few real hippies, and how many of them lived and thought.
