I went to the Animal Fair.
The birds and the beasts were there.
The Red Baboon by the light of the moon,
Was coming his auburn hair!.
The Monkey he got drunk,
And stepped on the Elephant’s Trunk!
The Elephant sneezed!
And fell to his knees!
And that was the end of the Monk!...the Monk!...the Monk!...the Monk!...................
As I did walk by Hampstead Fair
I came upon Mother Goose
So I turned her loose —
But she was screaming.
And a foreign student said to me,
“Was it really true There are elephants and lions too
In Piccadilly Circus?”
