I am completely okay with those people who choose not to eat meat becoming vegetarians, but leave the normal people alone. I don’t eat meat at every meal but that is my choice, and if I chose to eat it every meal, the government should have no say in the matter.

Years ago, I came across a photograph of a modestly-sized, probably artesian, butcher shop making sausage. The entire process was visible; from the hopper full of ingredients, through the natural casings being filled with the ground filling, to the yards and yards of completed sausages being neatly arranged in continuous rows on the outfeed table.
In addition to the detail of the process, what was striking was how clean and orderly the facility, equipment, and workers were. There was obviously an emphasis on cleanliness and following established processes and procedures.
Upon seeing this photograph (which I did try to find an example of before writing out the above description), I thought of the old saying about sausage making and politics. I thought about it and realized how much more organized, orderly, and purposeful sausage making was. So I made and hung up a poster saying what I wrote previously:
“Actually, comparing sausage making to politics is an insult to sausage making.”
To be honest, Hitler only became a veggie-guy in 1938....because of stomach ailments. Admitting this and making it a ‘trademark’ to the public didn’t occur until you get to 1942.
Adding to this legend...at the same time in 1938, he gave up smoking and beer/booze. The vitamin/narcotics supplements? They don’t start until the very end of 1943.
