How can it be a Disney classic, unless it tells everyone what to believe? What if Mickey used his want to make everyone transgender?

They should make a live action Fantasia starring Sam Smith.

Is that movie the original music video? It is still very watchable today.

Disney has made quite a few live action remakes of cartoons, haven’t they?

Who knows, maybe the guys at Disney are working on it.

How long until Disney releases a “live action” version of Fantasia featuring a LGBTQIA2S+ orgy?

From lofty heights of creativity to just below the lowest septic tank. Walt would cry.

The problem with Fantasia was that it put Disney between a rock and a hard place. The highbrows who liked the classical music thought that animation was a defamation of the music, since cartoons were lowbrow entertainment. The lowbrows, conversely, who liked cartoons wanted to be entertained rather than art-ed, and thought the classical music was too snooty to be heralded in a very long cartoon that couldn't keep the attention of children in the theater.

Like many artworks, it was ahead of its time, and only later has received the praise it deserves. One of its effects, though, was that Disney decided never to be artistic again, and that was when he took the highway exit leading to pure entertainment, from Disneyland and WDW to the Mickey Mouse Club and Wonderful World of Color.

I saw this as an adult back in 1970. I liked it!

There was a family a couple of rows ahead in which the mom thought it was horrible! “This is Horrible! I certainly hope they show a CARTOON!”
The poor dad looked to be whipped down by her statements. I believe the two young kids liked it.

Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 were wonderful. A shame Disney is garbage now.

The author left out one area of trivia…

Fantasia as a whole movie was basically censored out of existence in the late 40s or so. Nothing official about this but censored none the less. The reason is the Night on Bald Mountain episode. Too violent with very strong hints of psychedelic experiences. The back rooms of Hollywood knew their drugs.

Top episodes were mentioned in the OP article. The sorcerer’s apprentice and the ballet dancing hippos were occasionally played on Wide World of Color. Sunday evening. Both are epic.

I was blown away when the full Fantasia was released in full finally. When available on the shelf, I snapped up a VHR copy fast in case it was disappeared again.
