I remember four years ago when the Viking Cruise Line's Viking Sky was stranded off the coast of Norway and drifting towards the rocky shore in stormy weather. They had to rescue the passengers by helicopter before the ship could crash into the rocks.
They eventually did get control of the ship back. Good luck doing that with solar power.
