If he’s the true CIC (which he is) and has control of the military (which he does), this would be a good time for them to step in.
For them to do nothing would guarantee the destruction of not just Pres. Trump, but of the nation and probably millions of people within it, including a sizeable portion of the military.
Obviously they know that. So as bad as things look at this moment, I’m not going to get too awfully worried just yet.
Unfortunately, I think it is too early still. I believe they will wait to see if justice prevails in the courts. Another year at least...
