It seems I recall some foreign tourists doing the same thing several years ago. I believe in that case the park personnel ended up having to euthanize the animal. Tourists do not realize that the mother leaves her baby alone as she goes off to graze and will return to feed and see to the kid after she has eaten her fill.
Do tourists no longer read up on the places they plan to visit and read all the warnings, instructions, and advice given?
AT YNP, everyone is given a brochure on what not to do at the entrance gate. It is usually ignored by the tourons. (tourist - moron).
