A Howard University law professor petitioned a United Nations (U.N.) tribunal to pay every black American $5 million in reparations — a proposal that would not need taxpayer approval.
On Friday, Justin Hansford, a leading scholar in critical race theory, addressed the U.N. tribunal in New York City during the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, the Daily Mail reported. The forum will last four days, ending on June 2. David Comissiong, representing Barbados, proposed it.
Hansford was joined by colleagues from the University of Pittsburgh and Columbia University in his plea that the United States government atone for the sins of slavery and Jim Crow laws.
A descendant of slaves from Georgia, Hansford said the reparations owed to each person should be determined on a case-by-case basis. He said that for some, $5 million might be too low.
Reparation task forces and commissions have been popping up all across the country following the death of George Floyd in the summer of 2020. This month, a task force in California forecasted that reparations to black Americans would cost the state $800 billion, more than twice the state’s budget. The city of San Francisco sanction reparations committee has recommended every black resident be allocated $5 million, as reported by the Associated Press (AP).

There are NO Americans alive today that were held as slaves. Being black or a descendant of slaves does not magically convey damages to you. You’re owed nothing.
Slavery was worse in South American than in North America. Do they get reparations also?

The Carribean, Brazil, Spanish America had more.
And the funny thing is, descendants of those slaves are a lot less whiney and work far harder than American blacks.
Myth One: The majority of African captives came to what became the United States.
Truth: Only a little more than 300,000 captives, or 4-6 percent, came to the United States. The majority of enslaved Africans went to Brazil, followed by the Caribbean.

Reparations were paid in blood between 1861 and 1865.
700,000 Patriots and tyrants died. Tens of thousands of others gave arms, legs, eyes for the cause.
Whom were the Patriots? Those on your side no matter what the color of the Uniform. Tyrants were “the other guy.”

I agree that we should pay reparations to all living slaves who were brought to America.
If the thing is that the descendants of the above are to be “paid” then we should calculate the total amount of money already paid in countless government programs over the past 100 years. Unfortunately, that would likely mean they would have to pay “us” back.
Indeed, if you kept going with reparations and everyone on earth having to pay, you’d be going back to the Garden of Eden!
I assume that the 5 million would also be tax free.
My figures are closer to the truth than the $5 million rectal-pull number they fabricated.
The UN has no such authority. Do you think these African Americans know that?
