Sometimes when they talk about these places I think of massive cities laid out.
But here they’re saying the location is about 3 hectares - which is roughly 7 1/2 acres. My home sits on a quarter acre. So the site is basically equivalent to a small subdivision of about 30 suburban houses. Now I don’t know the structure’s vertical component, but assuming 6 people per household (2 elders, 2 kids, 2 parents) that would give a population of roughly 180....a decent sized village no doubt.

Like Catal Huyuk, this town used the roofs as the “streets”, and entered and exited their homes and other buildings using roof openings, which doubled as the smoke-holes. The outermost structures generally provided the city walls.
