That was the response of JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s long-running CEO Jamie Dimon, when asked by Bloomberg if he would ever consider running for public office or accept a cabinet position, as the U.S. 2024 presidential race looms.
“You know, obviously, it’s crossed my mind because people mention things to you and stuff like that,” Dimon said, reiterating that for now he’s happy where he is, while at the bank’s annual Global China Summit in Shanghai on Wednesday. “I think JPMorgan does a great job of helping Americans and countries around the world, and this is my job.”

At least he would know what fiscal responsibility entails, even if he couldn’t or wouldn’t be able to do much about it.
Who’s next? Cher? Dick Van Dyke?
Dimon is a really, really good fiscal manager and someone who has steered a 300K strong workforce for 2 decades.
I think he could make a pretty good President.
Who does JPMorgan Chase?
Just what we need. Another liberal Democrat globalist.
I thought Dimon had decided he wasn’t running for president. Maybe six or eight months ago. Perhaps his deep pocket pals are trying to change his mind. He would need to learn how to debate and communicate with the average non wealthy American. Can’t be yellin like Ms Yellen.
Indeed.
Dimon couldn’t win a democrat or Republican primary.(Dimon is a democrat BTW)
His party has too many Bernie Sanders types & the Republicans have better choices than a democrat banker.
I might agree with you, but who is sitting in the White House, and what just happened yesterday evening?
That’s Jaye P. Morgan. Our whole country is now weirder than The Gong Show could ever dream of.
Best show, ever.
Cher Dyke 2024
Chastity?
It’s “Chaz” now, you hater!
I claim ignorance, I just can't keep up.
(old Conan O'Brien sketch)
What?? Dimon is a seditious, far left Demonrat. True conservatives wouldn’t give that creature the time of day.
In 2012, Dimon said he was a Democrat but just “barely,” and, seven years later, he told CNBC “my heart is Democratic but my brain is kind of Republican.” He served on Donald Trump’s Strategic and Policy Forum, which included several industry leaders, until it disbanded in 2017.
