The researchers conducted a war game simulation, which showcased China’s military sinking the carrier fleet by launching a relentless onslaught of 24 hypersonic anti-ship missiles across 20 intense battles.

Not quite. The German equipment was exceptionally well engineered,
BUT, they were not reliable and when they broke down, they broke down badly.
The Russian equipment was designed for damage.
Kind of like comparing a Maserati with a workhorse Honda Civic.
Right now, Russian and Chinese stuff break down a lot, so even quantity can’t help them. In contrast, American stuff is higher quality and more robust
Are they copies of the Russian failed hypersonic missiles ? LOL
The spy game has been going on for eternity. I just don't have any confidence in our spies and those involved at the CIA and FBI. Wray, Comey, Brennan, Clapper just don't seem like the best we have. Even over in the military side, just not impressed.
One Word: Lasers.
Putting the “Hype” in hypersonic. These missiles slow to subsonic speed in order to maneuver in their terminal phase. 24 of them shouldn’t overwhelm a carrier task force; The Aegis-equipped escorts should be able to handle them. However, our woke Navy seems to have trouble with basic navigation so our air defenses may end up being Moskava level in practice.
Aegis and SM-6 missiles.
More hypersonic hype.
You really love dictatorships.
24 missiles isn’t exactly an ‘onslaught’
a real battle with china would involved hundreds if not thousands of missiles per hour
remember... china does everything in scale
If countries unit they can cripple China economically it would damper their war machine by a great deal it takes money to keep one active.
We can thank Obama and Biden for that.
“They can/will launch many hundreds of missiles. They only need a few to get through and hit their targets”
How many defensive missiles do our carriers and Aegis cruisers have ready to fire? I am thinking of a rifle where eventually the empty magazines have to be seitched out for full ones (and the empty ones reloaded). One would think that at a certain point, the numbers of incoming missiles could outpace our ability to get interceptor missiles into the air. It is a good point that the attacker needs only one missile to get through whereas the defender needs to be perfect. I also think far more likely than a hot war is a Chinese blockade of Taiwan where a naval and air exclusion zone is announced causing civilian commerce to stay away regardless of what the US does.
did anyone expect the Chinese to announce any different results?
I read a thread yesterday here on FR that 5 of our subs could wipe out the entire Chinese navy with cruise missiles alone.
