NY Times: “Trump knew Trump tower was sinking in the river when he sold it.”
As rising oceans threaten NYC, study documents another risk: The city is sinking

buh bye
Going for the first of many “rising sea virus booster shots” soon. They assure us that not more than 30 booster shots will be required

It is incredible it took until 2023 for them to publish this. Heretofore, all their Chicken Little squawking was about global warming. Suddenly they discover trillions of tons of buildings push the earth down. It’s a well-known glacial phenomena forever.
Obviously fracking in the Dakota’s fault...
Suggestions...All new buildings must be made of polyfoam...
My concern is what effect will this have on bridge and tunnel tolls? :)
Welcome to New Venice.
Even Old New York was once New Amsterdam.
Actually, I think my Mr Silent But Deadly scheme — where we tank up on broccoli and beans before a coordinated attack on NYC elevators just to thank that town for all they have done to the country — might be easier to pull some fingers.
In 1995, the NYT said the east coast beaches would be gone by 2020. Yesterday, they published an article stating the west coast beaches would soon be gone. That’s in addition to every other incorrect prediction made over the past 100 years regarding climate cooling/warming/change and dutifully published in the NYTimes.
What reference control data was used to measure this? Anything on the earth’s surface (which includes everything) has to be excluded because it is also presumably sinking.
If you use GPS measurements, their elevation readings are AT BEST accurate to one meter, rendering the entire study nonsense.
A couple of million obese people is who I blame.
;-)
Years ago, there was speculation that a large part of Manhattan Island had been deeply undermined and that at some point it could break off. I think they mentioned that a core sample had been taken inland and that it hit salt water.
But will it tip over?
The obese are equally spread throughout the city—it will just sink.
;-)
As long as Chris Christie stays away.
