Whatever happened to the idea of “Rest In Peace”?
The obsession with “relics” and corpses is one reason I don’t think I could be a Catholic. Although I have learned much from the writings of the previous two popes (the present one, not so much). Jesus’ resurrection promises a true incorruptible life, not some grotesque state where corpses don’t completely return to dust. This looking for “signs” in the remains of the long-dead detracts from the promise of a resurrection.
