One of the sad realities of the mother of all Von Mises style credit expansion ( ie -Von Mises’s term for governments printing money)we are currently in is that the closer you get to the final collapse stage of a credit expansion, the more the economic consequences of voluntary abondonment of further credit expansion resembles pressing forward to final collapse via continuing the credit expansion.
Fact is we are so close to that end point of a Von Mises style credit expansion that the shutting down of the out of control government money machine would tank our already teetering economy. In this case, it will also tank the world economy given Americas waning economic dominance.
Hence the move to a new international monetary system such as the BRICs which will hasten the fall of the dollar empire.
Looks like the boys in DC are shooting for the whole enchilada.
Ironically, McCarthy did the right thing faced with the Hobson’s Choice options he was presented with Democrats flat refusal to cut spending and extortionate willingness to intentionally default and blame the Republicans. He made the decision to float the economy for another year to prevent being blamed for a far more serious economic recession than the one we are already entering.
The only two Republican leaders in modern history have been able to win the blame game with the Democrats are Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump.
The hapless Republican leadership knows that the Democrats will play the pain of the inevitable economic downturn from cutting spending to their advantage so they choose the easy short term path of the status quo that maintains the normalacy bias illusion that things are going to be OK that will eventually lead to much greater downstream pain.
Can't really blame McCarthy too much when faced with an electorate where a huge plurality can be convinced that men are women.
And, as a practical matter, you can't be sane and responsible when the country has become insane and irresponsible and half the country lives on the government dole supported by the programs McCarthy is trying to reign in and the Democrats are experts at ruthlessly manipulating the government dependent underclass.

Fact is, there is no way of stopping the hardships we are going to have in the near future. In many ways the coming bad times are by design - the Democrats since the 1970s have been following the Cloward - Piven script for total collapse of the US economy to facilitate the radical social change they lust for.
All that remains is who is going to be in charge to lead us out of disaster we have created for ourselves and what kind of a system emerges from the chaos and pain.
New York under David Dinkens was a trial run for the Cloward - Piven collapse the Democrats are trying to engineer.

This may be true but there is an inherent conflict of interest of agencies seeking funding by publishing statistics they created or helped fund.
I would not be ready to believe it without a full detailed audit of the methodology of the statistics used.
Most government statistical reports are total garbage for this reason.
I can count on one hand the individuals in DC that I trust. Rand Paul is one of them.
