I'm going to pick 4 for starters that are in different decades but for the time frame were the best in My opinion/era/Genre. I don't care what type of music but this Thread is (hopefully) going to be about Stringed Instrument Solo, meaning only 1 person on the Instrument.

Many including Myself aren't aware that Jimmie was in the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles".

I spoke to Juma Sultan, who was onstage with Jimi at Woodstock. Juma said Jimi was definitely against the war, but he was honoring America. Btw, Juma is really a free jazz cat and his music is worth a listen. He’s still active in Florida and New York - in fact he posted on his Facebook the story about the black dude walking out of a trans dance video shoot - see https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/4153738/posts. He may not be a Deplorable, but he sure doesn’t seem like an enemy.
Jimi never torched a flag, never called servicemen baby killers, and FWIW Vietnam WAS a s-—show; LBJ et al wasn’t in it to win it, and just like with Ukraine it’s not our war. If conservatives/leftists were/are worried about the Viet Cong/Russians, then THEY should have picked up a rifle, fly to Saigon/Donbas, and go play GI Joe/Cisgen.

Jimi wasn’t opposed to war as much as how it was being fought. Hard to disagree. If we really fought it to win, it could have been over quickly, even before people started to get upset about it.
Allan Holdsworth’s solo on “In the Dead of Night” is worth mentioning.

Yes, pure excellence. For a 3 man band they were amazing.
I’ve been a Doc Watson fan since the moment I heard one of his records (Ballads from Deep Gap, around 50 years ago, and I still have that album).
My wife is from NC, not all that far from Deep Gap, and she told me once about being at a pig-pickin’ back in the hills, when she was about 20, where Doc Watson and Vassar Clements showed up. Doc heard her singing in the crowd and called her up to sing with him. I was in awe when I heard that.

Stellar pick and probably best vehicle for his solos. Bootlegs including LA Forum 1970 also provide insight into the emotion he poured out when playing that one. Too bad there were not more studio recordings of it.
Voodoo Child slight return is also a great one. It is take 2 of a studio recording. Jimi’s stuff was pretty raw and needed proper recording to make it listenable. Can’t listen to much of the bootlegs.
There are some that are really good.

Jimi was pretty solid. Paratrooper. I sat down with Jimmy Vaughan one night at Dave’s Coffee Hose in Deep Ellum. He loved Hendrix. Traded a wahwah pedal for something or other as I recall...

I played guitar there at 17 for Johnny High’s Country Music Review. Met LeAnn Rhimes there when she was a little fart.
Fun times.
Then I went to trade school in Bellmead and hung out with Billy Joe Shaver’s kid Eddie. We tore it up. Met Willie and Jerry Jeff and Ray W. Hubbard.
I stayed in the trades, but I have had a good time.
My hands are about beat,but I still jam. My wife likes me playing Townes Van Zandt songs and my originals.

A decade ago a kid covered Rat Tomago live with Dweezil. I was at that show in Woodstock, NY. It renewed my hope in youth and humanity.
Their drummer was pretty good, too. Now if only I can remember his name.

I jam on my lap steels in open E with a wah and tube screamer, and he is in my head.
IMHO The original six Allman Brothers may be the best band of them all.
