Back in 73 you were either a Jesus Christ Superstar fan or a Godspell fan.
Sheesh has it been 50 years.
“Back in 73 you were either a Jesus Christ Superstar fan or a Godspell fan”
Neither.
In the words of Archie Bunker, “Jesus Christ I dig, and I dug him a long time before you weirdos turned him into a superstar.”
Outdated and even “hokey” perhaps, but things have really turned south with performances like those put on by the likes of the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence”, mocking Christ and the crucifixion and indulged by the LA Dodgers.
Great quote. You seem to be repository / library of such stuff. :-)
What a pretty song! Thank you for posting it, I’ve never heard this before.
1972 actually when the single was released. Was a hit in the spring/summer.
Always a Godspell fan. First show I ever ran as a lighting tech. I always felt it brought people closer to God by putting a song in their heart.
I never saw ‘Godspell’, but I saw ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’; I liked some of the music, but I wasn’t a great fan of the production.
I saw this tonight:

I don’t think that people should eschew all involvement with others, but portioning out a healthy amount of ‘alone time’ free of media, social media, and other people, is extremely useful to mental and emotional health. Too many people here are allowing themselves to be too influenced by stuff they see here, in the ‘news’, etc.
What sucks about the 50ys is 73bi graduated from hs 😱😭
Oh, I recommend the whole album. Go Get it and enjoy!
I remember that!
Now, where’d I put my keys?
Great song. Stephen Schwartz is one of the best we have right now.
I agree. As I aged I became very disillusioned with the purported ‘ideals’ of the young people of the 60s-70s; but at least the constant condemnation of Christianity and traditional moral concepts wasn’t as prevalent as it is now. We actually had a culture somewhat tolerant of diversity of thought.
Now we have no real diversity at all.
