"Florida is a terrible place, really terrible, a hellhole, really," said Trump. "Only very, very stupid people live in Florida. That's how bad it is. So bad, really bad. But it would be a wonderful, perfect place if Ron DeSanctimonious, Meatball Ron, hadn't driven it into the ground--like a dog. Now, only very bad dummies still live there. And I know a thing or two about really bad dummies. Sad!"
Trump then vowed he would work with CNN, MSNBC, and Dr. Fauci to ensure DeSantis didn't win and then make the entire country just like Florida, where stupid people live.
"If Ron DeStupid wins the Presidency, which he won't, the entire country will be a balmy tropical paradise with freedom and low taxes," said Trump. "But it will be a balmy tropical paradise with freedom and low taxes where I am not President, and that would be terrible. Nobody wants that!"

It is down to Florida and Tennessee for me.
I don’t find this humorous from The Babylon Bee.
I thought Trump jumped the shark. Turns out it was the Bee that jumped the shark. Need to take a step back.
This is just bombastic and an abuse of the very concept of hyperbole. None of this is true, and it serves no purpose, except to establish Trump to the LEFT of Ron DeSantis, not a comfortable place to be, even for a populist.
If Trump is going to attack DeSantis, it might be better to keep the differences real. After all, Trump himself has chosen to be a Florida resident, so Florida cannot be that bad a place to live. And the stewardship under DeSantis has been largely a building on the legacy that was inherited in 2018, when DeSantis was first elected to the office of governor.
With Trump’s endorsement at the time, if memory serves.
Way too close to reality...I wasn’t thinking “Babylon Bee” when I read the title! ;-)
Wife and I much prefer Gulf Shores, Mobile, a.k.a The Redneck Riviera, to anything in Florida. I can see the appeal of Florida, just not our jam.
First time I’m not happy with Babylon Bee……and I am not happy!
I took this serious until I realized this was the Bee. Regardless, there’s enough of this sort of talk that makes me wish Trump would just chill out.
The difference between Florida and California is the difference between night and day. One can choose: darkness and decadence or light and ascendancy. Florida is ascendant. California is decadent. Those who make the choice deserve what they get. It’s easy.
.
Not funny Bee. You’re better than this.
I find this very humorous, and I am one of the earliest people on this board to say flat out Trump would be the nominee in 16 and take the White House.
Lighten up folks.

The idiom is “it depends on whose ox is being gored.” The meaning is that we are more likely to take offense to a dubious comment or action when that comment or action is directed against what we see as our own interests. For example, we might think that it is inappropriate to call the President of the United States a ‘pig-faced liar,’ if we support that president. If the same comment is directed at a president we don’t support, we are more likely to overlook it or even defend it.
Not the Babylon Bee:
“He has left a wake of destruction all across Florida, and people are hurting because he has spent more time playing public relations games instead of actually doing the hard-work needed to improve the lives of the people he represents.”
The campaign’s message, titled “The Real Ron DeSantis Playbook,” continued to knock the Florida governor with a list of points linked to the state becoming “among the worst.”
“Under Ron DeSantis, Florida has become among the worst states… to live… find economic opportunity… work… retire… raise a family… pay taxes…be safe… rent a home… have a baby… afford energy… die… be a teacher… be a doctor… be a police officer... for millennials... for working dads [and] for working moms,” the email read.]
Babylon Bee = Fake News
Babylon Bee = Fake Humor
Cut The Bee some slack … this was the first clue:
“ Only very, very stupid people live in Florida.…”
Wait, where is Mar-A-Lago?
Trump may not be very wise, but he wouldn’t admit that he was stupid.
The sad thing is that he is so bombastic that this is believable.
That’s exactly what happens to those in the “Trump or No One” category, any perceived criticism of Trump even satire is sure to raise their ire.
Babylon Bee is a satire site who has become quite well know for making the absurd look even more absurd.
They took Trump’s criticisms of DeSantis and carried them out to an absurd level and wrote this bit of satire.
Most will see it as satire and funny, others will get irate and bash Babylon Bee after years of laughing at their material.
