Good for voting them out.
My memory of Danville is getting yelled at by the lifeguard for running around the public pool. My penalty was having to walk around the pool three times. That was 60 years ago. Funny what a person remembers.
It is funny what we remember. Certain things really make an impact on you. That’s how it used to be for sure. I know it’s grown up a lot since you were there. A friend of mine was raised here, moved away to raise her family, and then moved back 25 years ago. She says it has changed a lot.
The population is around 10,000 now. Unfortunately, one of the farmers died and left his land to a nephew that lives a few states away, so the nephew sold it to a developer. So now we are putting in new infrastructure to carry that new development of 2500. All the townspeople are PO’d about it. So there were two good reasons to get rid of everyone who voted for the development and against the Mayberry festival.
I know eventually people who live in the surrounding towns will get sick of that growth and move here. It’s only a matter of time. I just hope we can retain our small town values.
