I live in Indy 13 years and Loved it!
But turned 45 in 2000 and needed to make a change.
Regrets—— a little.
You are only a few years older than me and hubby. We raised our kids in Cbus, Ohio, and were there for 25 years. I loved the Midwest from the minute I was greeted by very helpful other passengers at baggage claim with two very small children in tow. They brought us a luggage cart that they paid for. It won my heart very quickly. Southerners are polite. Midwesterners are genuinely kind.
We moved to Indy almost ten years ago (in October) with a job change for my husband. Funny, even though we were in Ohio for 25 years, it was new to us for the first ten. So we knew nothing of Indiana until we moved here. The nest moved. As I’ve said in the past, we live in the cutest, nicest Midwestern town, which is a suburb of a suburb west of Indy. We call it Mayberry here, and it’s not far off. “Mayberry Man” was filmed here (partially).
I bet where you live now is pretty great, too. My ophthalmologist wants to retire there in the next few years. I keep telling him he has to wait a few more years! He’s the absolute best in his business. When he goes, I’ll send you his business card. He’s smart and talented. I don’t say that lightly. So if and when he moves to your neck of the woods, I’m happy to give you a referral. It wouldn’t be my first and won’t be my last.
