The owner said she rents to people from all over the world but has had difficulty with most of her Black American clientele. She categorized them as “disrespectful, entitled, unappreciative” and said the reason they are is that they have been spoiled and given too much “free sh*t” in America. She complained that they “start fights with each other” late at night and said they expected the same treatment in Jamaica that they receive in America, “They think that they can come to Jamaica and can get the same free shit here, and they are nasty about it.” She continued making it clear that she is not saying all Black Americans are the same.

She has to realize that American blacks have been listening to the black leadership the Democrats choose for them.
The Un-Civil War: BLACKS vs N*****S: Confronting the Subculture Within the African-American Community – by Taleeb Starkes (Author)Thanks for mentioning the book. Goes on my reading list. From the reviews, the book merely affirms the obvious that culture is distinct from race. But I suppose many readers need the authenticity of a black author to say it.
Yes, we have families from Kenya and Ghana around here. Lovely neighbors, well-brought-up children, well-kept yards, well spoken, grateful for the opportuniites here, and all feel the same way about the AA's.
HAHAHAHAHA.
I must disagree. The ACLU gained traction in MLK's day, the 50s and 60s, as great liberators of oppressed blacks; but the ACLU always has been a communist organization. They used the vulnerable black community to further the rest of their agenda, just as Democrats have been using blacks ever since with a “the soft bigotry of low expectations.”
Blacks were the fall guys for white communists; and now that their reputations and enclaves are in ruins, the socialist/communists are using the mentally ill (mass shooters and the sexually deranged). Trump was the first president since Eisenhower to genuinely acknowledge blacks' capabilities, call out the genuine needs of AA communities—tools to build social and economic freedoms and responsibilities—and address them without pandering.
As for what has happened with American blacks since the Civil Rights movement, it was predictable; in 1967 the great social philosopher Eric Hoffer wrote, in The Temper of Our Time,
“Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.”

Reasonable men may disagree on any number of topics.
If Michael King was a tool of the left, IMO he was a willing tool who knew he was being used.
In any case, you don’t seem to be disagreeing with me that the practical result of the so-called “civil rights movement” has been societal disaster.
I have not read enough about Wallace to know his positions in detail; but if the speech you cited is a good summary, he has been tarred and feathered worse than McCarthy and Enoch Powell. It’s difficult to argue that his predictions you posted have not come true, to one undeniable degree or another.
Racial hatred and bullying deserved to be driven out; but the overreaching remedies ignored the damage they would cause, and have worked to destroy both camps.
No, I believe his campaign was his own and was sincere, whatever flaws he exhibited personally. ACLU and others cashed in, not only on his following, but also on his martyrdom. I was a young adult during that time period and have followed the developments all my adult life.
