Technically (legally, too), the state of Bavaria had a law that said if you were deputized as a Munich/Bavarian policeman...even for one single day...you were eligible to be recognized as a full-up citizen.
Being a undercover guy for the state secret police, Hitler met the requirement.

But, he’s got a PDF that very clearly states he is a “Naturlischegeborenstaatsbürger” right there!
