This sounds like every politician in the world.
The days of the “investigative newspaper reporter” is over. Media is not about finding truth. It’s about the narrative. It’s about getting eyeballs.
While a lot of these reporters are “anti capitalists” their primary goal is “followers”, “subscribers”, and “views.” It’s the 21st Century version of circulation numbers or “ratings” on TV.
Newspapers cannot afford to pay people to just dig into stuff. It’s not that the “journalists” are lazy, per se. They are focused on other things. The truth be damned.
