I actually wore the before the pandemic, as my wife was on chemo and had no immune system.

it is common in workplaces now for folks to wear masks if they are slightly sick. I am in manufacturing......you can’t stay home because of a cough or cold. But wearing a mask signals to others, only converse if necessary.
With all the f’d up things in the world, masks might be last.
And there are people who are brain dead morons still wearing them for no other reason than they're brain-dead morons. I know a lady suffering from cancer and she wears one in public places. I get that. I also know a lady who is perfectly healthy and wears one everywhere, including alone in her car. She just wears it. No logical reason. She even pulls it down all the time to talk. What's the point ?

All antimaskers are idiots. They do not think with fine distinctions. They want people to believe masks do nothing. It is true masks do not stop all transission or disease completely. But, you point out one need to protect people with masks. For 40 years I have watched people come to church from a close by teaching hospital masked. Like your wife, most are chemo patients or transplant patients.
They wear masks because thinkers who can make fine distinctions know masks can reduce transmission somewhat and, if contracted can reduce severity of disease. Universal masking does the above better. We may hear all studies prove masks do not work. Few studies are done by fine thinkers, but rather those with an agenda.
If you do not believe me, read Dr. Robert Redfield, head of cdc under Trump AND silenced by the group of experts which the Trump admin formed, and to which Fauci also belonged.
The point is those masks do not protect the owner from others having potential viral/bacterial infections. They do protect (to a degree) the others from the mask owner if he/she is infected with bacterial infection, but not from the viral one. That is why a surgeon wears mask during surgery, and his patient does not.
A friend told me a couple they know are just getting over Covid and are signed up for their sixth vaccine. What’s with that?
Agreed that there are and we’re times it makes sense. Most of this we all see is just fear. I know some elderly people that are still hiding in their homes. I am concerned they have become mentally unstable over this all. Sad really but it’s their life so if they want to not live their last few years it’s their choice.
Agree. Folks on Chemo, transplant recipents, elderly folks that have outlived their immune systems, family members of the above. I'll even spot pregnant women a mask.
Speaking of transplants, some folks appear to need a brain transplant.

Same here, caring for elderly family member in fragile health before Covid. A lady at our church has MS plus other health issues and on drugs that suppress her immune system, and her husband wears a mask at the grocery. Nothing to do with Covid. Best not to judge people whose circumstances and reasons you don’t know.
