I haven't heard about Bakhmut falling before today. I did hear about Russia advancing slow and methodically through the city. It was a bloody and brutal battle. Beyond Bakhmut it's mostly open fields until you get to the next residential town. I think the Ukrainians fought so hard to hold the city because they know how hard it will be to hold that wide open area. We should see where the war is headed over the next few weeks.

Well then you’re not paying attention, cause they’ve been saying Bakhmut was falling, has fallen, was about to fall, definitely is gonna fall any second now, etc etc etc since like September.
