The title alone gives you plenty of warning about the likely content.

If you would rather not experience threads like this (which is of course your right), your best option is:
— Don’t click on them
— If you accidentally click on them, don’t read them
— If you accidentally read them, don’t comment on them, since that only prolongs your agony.

Just sayin’, it ain’t hard to avoid unwanted threads by simply ignoring them. I do it all the time, with probably 2/3 of the threads here.

What you're suggesting is that it is perfectly appropriate to post stories on FR with no regard whatsoever to its content. Sure, Its General/Chat..but one needs to reflect on the concept of what is morally right before posting here. IMHO, this story does not qualify as FR General/Chat. If there was a FR General/Crap...ok fine. There is a very good reason why there is none.

I’m not suggesting that anyone is forcing me to read that tripe. It’s simply unnecessary in what I consider to be the general purpose of Free Republic. Yes we need to know what’s going on. However, how many disgusting pictures of mentally ill people should it be necessary to post to make sure we know about it? Especially when it appears that about 30% of the population is now mentally ill.
