Isn’t Weiner German for Vienna?

Wien is German for Vienna, and Wiener means Viennese. The sausages in question are Wiener Würstchen or, especially in Austria, Wiener Würstl.

Weiner (from weinen--to cry or weep) means weeper and is probably related to the English word "whiner.".
