Do you think this article would have been posted in American Thinker by this author if the homeless mutant had been a white military veteran who did three combat tours in Iraq … and the “Good Samaritan” had been a black Muslim?
I think the author — and many conservatives — reflexively jumped on the bandwagon to support Daniel Penny simply because the case seemed to fit a narrative that reinforces their world view.
I wouldn’t be so quick to assume there’s an underlying motive at work here in this prosecution. From all the reports I’ve read, I think there is a legitimate question about whether Penny had any reason to put his hands on the deranged mutant in the first place.

Then you haven’t read enough, watched the video showing the (as you called him) homeless mutant yelling threatening and telling people he was going to hurt someone so he could go back to jail.
And - DA Bragg didn’t prosecute until this started making headlines. NYPD didn’t charge him after talking to him afterward, either.
in san francisco
a security guard shot a shoplifter in the back
no charges
what do you make of that?
Well, while Penny didn’t know Neely punched and broke a 67 year old woman’s eye socket on the subway, in 2021. But the SOBs that let him out jail sure as hell did. They should be lined up on the tracks and run over for what they have done to the peace and dignity of the people of NYC, no matter what race they are.
