I had a "good ol boy" tell me about his grandpa. He had a bunch of old pipes strewn about his yard. When, as a kid, he was fooling around with them, grandpa opened one up and it was filled with quarters. After grandpa died someone who didn't know the story had those old pipes hauled away.
Whoever got those pipes got a good amount of money.

Probably silver quarters!
My grandfather rolled his own cigarettes and used Bugler tobacco. He stored his cash in empty Bugler cans under the house. He never trusted another bank after the depression.
And then there was the man I worked with that saved his “she” money in the barrel of one of his shotguns so his wife wouldn’t find it. He had $100 bills rolled and stuffed in the barrel of his “other” 12ga.
One day he grabbed the wrong gun to go bird hunting.
Served him right!
