Videos posted on Russian social media on Saturday showed a helicopter apparently being shot down over Russia’s Bryansk region, bordering Ukraine.
The state news agency TASS cited an emergency services official as saying preliminary information indicated the helicopter’s engine had caught fire before the crash near Klintsy, which is around 40 kilometers (25 miles) from the border.
However, a video posted on the Russian pro-war Telegram channel Voyenniy Osvedomitel, which has around half a million followers, showed a helicopter high in the sky exploding, being thrown off course and then plunging earthwards in flames.
Comments accompanying the video, which Reuters could not immediately verify, said the craft, a Russian-built Mi-8 transport helicopter, had been shot down by a missile.

The total of downed Russian aircraft in Bryansk is now up to 4.
1 x Su-34 1 x Su-35 2 x Mi8

.
So was the helicopter part of the russian air force or ukranian?
Russian.
It could have been Russian speaking Ukrainians infiltrating with MANPADS. It gives the Russians one more thing to worry about. The Russians have been sending troops into the eastern parts of the Ukraine masquerading as Ukrainian rebels. Payback is a female canine.
I’m very glad Ukraine is having success. Still, it is sickening to see things like this. All thanks to Putin’s imperial ambitions.
Russian reports that the two choppers were not just Mi-8 but expensive Mi-8 MTPR1 long-range electronic warfare systems that suppress enemy air defense radars. Russia operated only about 20 of these.

YES!
And descends from that point.
Putin’s great tragedy, human cannon fodder injured men abandoned by their fellow “soldiers?”, not soldiers, not Grunts; not even men, lower than low.
Untrained, uncommitted, and unconnected to those around them; lost.
The injured and abandoned choose suicide, as a Grunt this pains me and I’m clearly a Ukraine supporter and they are/were Russians.
Civilization is just a thin veneer covering human depravity.
I recommend watching the entire video... short on time, start at about 6min 30 sec this is a safe version do NOT click through and watch the actual event...
Things that try men’s souls.
Update on the conflict in Ukraine for May 13, 2023:
- Russian media space panics over false claims of Ukraine’s offensive beginning;
- The trading of territory in Bakhmut is typical of urban combat operations and does not indicate a “momentum shift” until the vector sum of the fighting begins favoring Ukraine rather than Russian forces;
- Additional evidence has surfaced that Ukraine is using some of its best military hardware in and around Bakhmut including German-made self-propelled howitzers, indicating that Russian plans to draw in and destroy Ukraine’s best troops and equipment is working;
- Ahead of Ukraine’s offensive, both sides are conducting long-range strikes. For Russia it is about disrupting Ukraine’s offensive potential. For Ukraine it is about shaping the psychological and media landscape of the conflict;
- The Storm Shadow cruise missile is air-launched and for targets deep inside Russian territory to be under threat, Ukrainian warplanes must travel dangerously close ot the line of contact and expose themselves to Russian air defenses. The missiles themselves must circumvent Russian air defense systems and electronic warfare measures;
- The terrain mapping feature most likely will require intelligence sharing between Ukraine and the US-UK in order to make the missile’s use most effective;
- While Storm Shadow missiles and other long-range weapons Ukraine may have will inevitably make it through to their targets these are not capabilities Russia doesn’t already have and in greater abundance. If these are war-winning capabilities, Russia is going to win the war first;
What’s Putin dying of today, Marcus?
“What’s Putin dying of today”
LOL, I have noticed a lot of posts that would make Biden a spring chicken in comparison to Putin.
Hopefully they pound the nazi AAA sites hard.
What Lukashenko doink? LOL!
The “unpleasant surprise” Ze was talking about a few days ago.
The Polish MiG-29s that have been quietly upgraded with modern radar (Israel) and compatibility with modern Western fire-and-forget air-to-air missiles.
Definitely AIM-120A,B possibly AIM-120C7.
And they already have stocks of those missiles to use with their NASAMS.
Send more of your flying coffins, Ivan.
>> Hopefully they pound the nazi AAA sites hard
When Crimea is liberated, Nazi AAA sites will get pounded hard including Nazi navy.
