Heard Lightfoot was the second choice.
“the long-awaited sequel to the 1988 original”
Long-awaited by who? I *liked* the original — 35 years ago — but in all the years since then I can’t recall even one time when I thought, “Boy, it’s a shame they never made a sequel.”
Do they have a spot for a former Chicago Mayor?
I haven't been waiting for one, has anyone here?
Wad what?
You’ve got to be kidding? Keaton is playing Batman again? I haven’t heard this. How old is he now?
Whoa... Wilbur!
No money for Hollywood jesters, who hate me and the country, from me.
Beaver would be called “Coochie” in that version.
Aside from Pam Grier and Keaton, virtually all the other characters (or actors) from the film are dead.
“The only thing they should ever redo is Firefly”
.
Not really redo, more like a new storyline that continues their travels.
River is the new pilot of Serenity.
Zoe has her own ship now as well as Inara.
Jayne and Kaylee are still with Mel but sometimes they and Zoe team up crews for bigger jobs.
Occasionally they have to rescue each other.
Kaylee is the only mechanic trusted by both crews.
Simon is crewing with Inara, they are running a quazi-legal operation but he will stay with Kaylee and River on Mel’s boat for extended periods.
.
It just writes itself...
.
I thought Simon was screwing Kayleigh and Inara & Mal were an item?
Nope,no thanks....sequels very,very seldom work.
They did a horrible “Still The Beaver” in 82 or 83?
All were there except Hugh Beaumont, the dad!
All correct.
All three crews can work together on jobs without looking like they are.
Relationships are still the same but being on different crews can produce more interesting stories and plots.
There also is “official deniability” with three boats/crews on rescues.
.
Alec coming back? Just don’t give him a gun.
Keaton is making up for the years when he was t cool enough for Hollywood.
He didn’t need retirement money. He is just doing stuff for fun. He was a good actor and comedian before most of his country-stars were born.
I wonder what Gilligan’s Island would look like.
Well yeah, it is.
Personally its because Keaton probably saved the Flash movie reprising his Batman role.
I tend to like him, so at his point in his career, I’m happy he’s getting some work he wants to do.
