My son had bladder cancer. He’s had plenty of parts removed. It’s been two years of hell. He’s down to one kidney which seems to be functioning properly. His last surgery was 6 weeks ago. How he even processes everything and stay positive, I don’t know.

My youngest son, age 48 at the time, had 4 big cancerous polyps, and underwent surgery in April of 2019. They did two resections which included taking a large part of his colon. He went through 6 months of chemo treatments. He then developed a blood clot in his lung, which can be a side effect of the chemo, and he had to give himself injections of Heparin the rest of the time he was on chemo. He’s been cancer-free since then, but because of the surgery, he has frequent bowel movements which forced him to have to give up his job. He worked at Geico’s road service phone center. He couldn’t even do the job from home, because he never knew when he was going to have to run to the bathroom. He’s lucky he didn’t end up with a colostomy. The chemo also gave him neuropathy in his hands and feet. It left his hands about a year ago, but it has never gone away in his feet. He still has to go for scans periodically. I hope your son continues to recover quickly, and remains healthy.
