Finland
There are an estimated 1.5 million licensed firearms in Finland, the country's interior ministry reports, in a nation of just 5.6 million. This high rate of gun ownership is due to an activity widely seen in Finland (and many other nations): hunting. Finns "have hunted and fished for food for thousands of years," Slate reports, and "hunting remains a popular weekend, or even after-work, activity." Finland's large area provides ample space for the hunting industry to flourish.
Despite this, Finland has had less than five documented cases of mass shootings. This is because, like most of the Nordic countries, Finland has highly regulated gun control laws. Following a school shooting in 2007, Finnish Parliament raised the minimum age to purchase a gun from 15 to 18, and the prospective buyer must fill out a detailed application to receive a handling license. The interior ministry has also implemented "changes to the provisions on the storage of firearms, component parts of firearms, and cartridges," as well as additional legislation to ensure guns remain safely locked away when not in use.

Practically homogeneous populations.
Another crap Yahoo article. John Lott would likely rebut it very effectively, as he would point out things like the New Zealand shooter was motivated to want to have New Zealand’s gun laws changed like Australia’s after committing his horrible and senseless act. And that also the United States has one of the lower death rates from mass shootings compared to other nations including ones in Europe.
Finland I suspect is also nearly as culturally homogenous as Japan.
It makes a difference.
Why? Because they don’t have the FBI or the CIA working against them.
America is more Godless and Aborts more babies....
You beat me to it. I haven’t really looked at it, but I have had a bit of exposure to Finns. I like and respect them, but they have a leg up on us in this respect.
Culturally homogeneous, or probably better put as less tribal.
The great majority of mass shootings are gang and drug related. Or, they are committed by people who are heavily medicated.

Two mass killings in Serbia last week. And in Brazil four kids in a day care where hacked to death by a man with an axe.

Unfortunately, that is correct.
Because other countries haven’t undermined the institutions that actually work to keep in check the the darker urges of man.
Religion, Family, etc.
If democrats and their ilk would quit shooting people, firearm homicides here would go down to almost nothing.
But it was set up by white organizers with the intention of attracting middle income black married couples who were tired of hearing blame-the-whitey messages in their black churches, and would be willing to be an example of godly and family commitment. They answered the call and joined our church. Thus whenever a new person visits our church and slings out the usual racist garbage at me or another white, I don't have a chance to respond before my middle-income black brothers shout them down and tell them we don't play that. They are married men who raise (or raised) their kids without slingin' their seed and disappearing. And it's working! Some of the single-mom teenage boys look up to them and come to church on their own without their mama just to be around people who are easy to respect and give them examples to imitate. One of the teenagers went on to get a computer science degree to be a programmer like me because he and I clicked in our volunteer projects.
But this kind of love for each other regardless of race works only when we pay attention to God's Spirit instead of the persistent cult garbage the Dims always push.
