A rebelling Nashville-area teenager stole a school bus and tried to run over a person at a service station moments before police say they could break into the bus and tase him.
The unidentified 14-year-old took the bus from Kipp College Prep in an Antioch neighborhood and went on a joy ride in West Nashville on Saturday around 4pm.
He made his way to a gas station where he collided with a diesel fuel pump and attempted to run over a pedestrian, according to Metro Nashville Police Department.
It's unclear when police started chasing the teenager but he then went on to strike another car while on the I-40 west.
Eventually, officers were able to slow down the bus, break the windows and user a taser on the teenager. It's clear how the teenager got the keys to the bus.
He was booked in juvenile detention.
Officers were traveling at a speed up to 65mph to stop the bus and used a spike strip to slow the bus down near exit 192.
'The teen evidently saw the spike strip, slowed the bus, and attempted to turn around in the middle of the west bound lanes,' police said.
But, the teen's getaway attempt was too slow and gave officers the opportunity to break into bus and capture him.
He was taken into custody and charged with evading arrest, vehicle theft, reckless driving, aggravated assault, leaving the scene of a crash, driving without a license and failure to report a crash.

I don’t know if I can certify that. In the 60s I did some stuff with dynamite that I didn’t tell my sons about until they were fully grown. I had a buddy in the 70s who, in his 20s, stole his uncle’s fire truck from the fire house where he worked. Just a little too much to drink.

Wow, we rebelled by taking a ditch day in our senior spring, getting some beer, and some of us smoked cigarettes. Rebellion has changed.
Boys will be boys.

And it is a high capacity vehicle! Who needs a vehicle that carry more than four people!
Yet here we are, most people driving, are aware of the laws and do not use their vehicles to hurt people. Isn’t it a strange coincidence? Let’s use their thought process for everything. We can start out with a spoon issue, and the reason people are fat.…
