Please ask for a soft tissue scan. An abscess could be unseen from oral examination. My wife had such and was in-hopsital treated with massive IV antibiotics and some steroids to knock it out in no time at all. She is fully recovered. Best to you.

believe it or not, you could also be out of alignment. perhaps go to a chiro?
To: JZelle
They should scope it. Whether it’s a video scope, or endoscopic ultrasound is up to the docs. Either one would require anesthesia, so they are loathe to do that without good reason.
Throat issues are not fun. Prayers up for you. Good luck tomorrow.

Ask them to check your white blood cell count and if your neck lymph nodes are infected.

Scope
This, ditto, and rule out GERD. Famotidine may be your friend.

You may get a scope in the nose. It’s annoying, but be tough and you can deal with it.
Again, I have many problems and many medical experiences. Please ask if you need any knowledge.
I’ve had LPRD along with my GERD for near 20 years so ENT stuff is quite familiar. I’ve had trouble because of the LPRD and also because of weird long-term haemophilus infection. You’d be amazed what pain you can go through over these.

A nose scope doesn’t need anesthesia….unless you count the nasty spray they put up the nose as numbing.

If it’s GERD, check for hiatal hernia, but do 1 liter of raw green cabbage juice a day (partly made and taken several times in the day).
Studies showed it healed ulcers in under ten days.
